Nepal Trek – April 28, 2016

The ASF and Thule team are now in Namche Bazaar the main trading village of the Khumbu region. To get from Phakding to Namche they had to cross over many suspended bridges including the one they they were on when the first earthquake struck Nepal in 2015. It was a part of the trip that some members met with apprehension. To walk the bridge, visit the tea house where they spent the long night of aftershocks post earthquake was a surreal event.

Nepal Trek – April 27, 2016

Yesterday the team made their way from Kathmandu to Lukla. A flight that gives you your first glimpse of the the majestic Himalayan mountains.

Upon their arrival in Lukla, they were greeted with sunshine and clear views of the mountains. A meeting was set up with Dr. Lhakpa Nurbu Sherpa of the Thame Heritage Foundation (THF) to discuss their plans related to the Thame school building project and how the Apa Sherpa Foundation (ASF)  and the THF could best work together to accomplish it.
