One year ago, our ASF team was in the Mt. Everest region of Nepal visiting remote schools when the devastating earthquakes occurred. From that point on, the trek took on a different priority; assisting with the immediate needs of those affected by the earthquakes.
April 25th marks one year since the devastating earthquakes in Nepal. The Apa Sherpa Foundation will be in the Himalayas this April to continue their work that they began a year ago, and to expound on their primary focus which has always been education. Their main objectives for this trip will be to select more teachers to sponsor, visit the remote schools to assess the needs of each building, and meet with a local non-profit organization in Thame; Apa Sherpa’s home village. During their trip, they will also be distributing backpacks and hygiene kits to children of Nepal; the backpacks were generously donated by Thule of Sweden.Continue Reading
