Apa Sherpa Co-Founder and Director of ASF
Apa (born Lhakpa Tenzing Sherpa; 20 January 1960) nicknamed “Super Sherpa”, is a Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer who, jointly with Phurba Tashi, holds the world record for reaching the summit of Mount Everest more times than any other person. Apa holds 11 world records by consistently breaking his own record. He has climbed the mountain twenty-one times as of May 2013. As part of The Eco Everest Expedition in 2011, Apa made his 21st Mount Everest summit. Apa is considered the foremost mountaineer in history.

Jerry Mika Co-Founder and President of ASF
Jerry Mika is the Co-Founder and President of the Apa Sherpa Foundation, a 501c3 Non-profit organization. He is also a successful businessman with an extensive experience in the outdoor retail sporting goods industry, entrepreneur and philanthropist. In 2007, He worked as the Mt Everest Base Camp Manager. Mika, along with co Base Camp Manager Roger Kher, filmed and documented the strongest “all Sherpa” team in the history on Mt. Everest. The Supersherpa’s Expedition, comprised of 13 all Sherpa team members including 8 professional climbing Sherpa’s with a combined total of 61 summits, made ground breaking history on Everest. In 2006, Jerry sponsored Apa’s family to come to the United States. Apa relocated all the way to Draper, Utah from Nepal to help his children obtain an education. Jerry has been the main driving force behind The Apa Sherpa Foundation and the Tiger of the Himalayas documentary; The Apa Sherpa story. He has a passion for making the world a better place. His family, friends, outdoors, fishing and photography have influenced his Adventurous Spirit.
Valerie Littleton Vice President of Operations
Valerie serves as the Vice President of Operations for the ASF and has been involved with the foundation since the beginning. She traveled first to Nepal in 2008 with her father. This began a new direction for her. In 2009, she returned back to Nepal with Apa for the first of many humanitarian trips. Along with working for the Apa Sherpa foundation, you can find her on a Yoga mat, hiking, biking, and spending time with her family. She has enjoyed a 17 year career in the field of Cardiology and has been to Nepal and Samoa on numerous humanitarian trips.
Dr. Sanjeev Bhatta
Sanjeev Bhatta MD is an Interventional Cardiologist of Nepalese origin. He spent his early formative years and received initial training in the field of medicine in Nepal. With subsequent exposure to medicine in Europe he then received his degrees in Medicine and in Cardiology in the United States. He has since 2002 held an immensely busy practice in Florida where he happily resides with his family. Apart from medicine he holds immense interest in the field of contemplative practices and is drawn to philanthropic causes. Other interests include white water rafting, historic literature and study of mind-matter interaction
Tenzing Sherpa Marketing/Operations
Tenzing is older son of Apa Sherpa. He was born and raised in Thame, Nepal, a small town in the Mt. Everest region. He completed his schooling at The Khumjung Secondary High School founded by Sir Edmund Hillary. He was the first in his family to complete school. He moved to Utah with his family in 2006 to further studies. He now has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Utah Valley University. He feels very fortunate to receive education in the US, and now has a strong desire to help the schools back in his home country of Nepal. Tenzing has been part of Apa Sherpa Foundation since 2013, and helps with operation of the foundation.
Sherri L. Hoskisson Treasurer
Sherri is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and has a Master’s of Science in Taxation.
She has been working with the Foundation since its inception as the Secretary and the Treasurer.
She runs her own tax & accounting business and has a passion for helping small businesses succeed so she became involved with the Apa Sherpa Foundation from the start. She understands hardship and dedication as a United States Army Major Disabled Veteran.
Scott Dana Creative Director
Scott was first introduced to Jerry Mika through Todd Winzenried. Jerry was looking for someone to help build a new website and create new media for the Apa Sherpa Foundation. When Scott heard about the cause, he immediately volunteered his services. Scott became emotionally attached to the Apa Sherpa Foundation during the Nepal earthquakes of 2015. Through the emails, texts and phone calls of Apa, Todd and Valerie who happened to be in Nepal during the earthquakes, Scott was able to help keep the world informed – via the Apa Sherpa Foundation blog, about the earthquakes and the help that they were able to perform on location.
Scott owns and operates Von Scott – a creative and multi-media firm. Scott enjoys the outdoors, riding dirt bikes, working with the motorsports industry and spending time with his wife and 3 kids.
